Ms. Mara Strandlund

AWS HR Global Leader 
Mara Strandlund, AWS HR Global Leader for International Markets, based in Seattle.
Mara joined AWS in September 2014 as Executive HR Leader for Global Infrastructure and Security organizations. In July 2016, Mara transitioned to lead Amazon worldwide Employee Engagement initiative named Connection. Under Mara’s leadership, the Connection finally rolled out across Amazon worldwide and touched base more than 550,000 employees by asking employee one simple but meaningful question each day to get employees’ voice being heard. After which, she transitioned back into leading AWS International HR business.
Prior to AWS, Mara was Vice President of HR and Customer Training for HD Supply Facilities Maintenance, a $2B+ North American multi-channel distribution and services business for 8 years; with Honeywell Aerospace for 9 years, and with The University of Chicago for 10 years. In addition to an MBA from the University of Chicago, Mara holds DiSC, Leadership 360 Assessment, Compensation Professional, the EQI coaching qualifications, she is also the Six Sigma Greenbelt.
Above all else, she is most proud to be the Mom of two awesome boys.
 
Mr. Rui Dass
AWS APJC HR Leader
Rui Dass, Regional leader for Compensation and Benefits for AWS Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China Region, he is based in Singapore and has been with Amazon for 8 years.

He was on the board of faculty studies for business schools in India and continues engaging with academia through his guest lectures. Rui has a degree in Mathematics and currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Academy of Human Resources. Rui was declared India’s Young Thought leader by the National Human Resources Development Network and has written several papers on Compensation. He has 2 decades of experience and worked in the past with IBM, Federal Bank and MindTree consulting.

杨壮教授 Professor Zhuang Yang

Co-Dean, BiMBA at National School of Development, Peking University

Sinar Mas Chair Professor of Management, National School of Development, Peking University 

Prof.Yang received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Columbia University, New York in 1991, majoring in management. He got his M.A. in Sociology from the same institution in 1985. He was also granted an MPA degree in International and Public Affairs from The Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs of Princeton University in 1984. He graduated from the English Language and Literature Department of Peking University, China.

Prof.Yang’s main teaching and research interests involve the Fundamentals of Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Organizational Innovation, and Cultural Change, MNC Operation and Management, International Leadership, etc. He has published a large number of articles and columns in leading academic journals and business press in China and the United States.
